Enacted by Congress as part of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, Opportunity Zones provide a tax incentive for investors to direct their capital gains into investments within designated Census Tracts. Urban Partners has recently been retained by the County of Dutchess, NY, to assist the County secure Opportunity Zone investments to revitalize urban centers in Poughkeepsie and Beacon. Working with a team of professionals skilled in public sector resource advocacy and urban design/site development, we will be assessing market opportunities that may exist, formulating conceptual plans for each priority building/site within the eligible Opportunity Zones, and creating promotional materials that showcase the potential projects and provide relevant community information to attract prospective investors and developers.
