MILLBOURNE STATION AREA PLAN

Millbourne, PA

Millbourne Borough, located in Delaware County, PA is small in size with an area less than a square mile and approximately 1,000 residents, but rich in historical, environmental, ethnic and transportation resources. Millbourne borders Philadelphia along Cobbs Creek and is small enough that it is entirely within walking distance of SEPTA's Market Frankford Line, offering a 15-minute commute to Center City. Millbourne retained a consultant team led by Urban Partners to develop a transit-oriented development plan for a vacant 18 acre tract adjacent to the rail tracks but visibly separated from the rest of the borough. The community's objectives in redeveloping the site are to improve Millbourne's tax base, provide local employment opportunities, create much-needed recreational space and develop a new sense of place to transform what has been an eyesore into a vibrant community hub.

Urban Partners has undertaken a comprehensive real estate market analysis to identify the range of feasible development opportunities and is identifying opportunities to provide transit, vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle assess to the site. The transit-oriented development plan for the site will identify the scale and nature of appropriate uses, provide design guidelines to facilitate desirable development and supportive green infrastructure investments.
