MT. AIRY 2025 NEIGHBORHOOD STRATEGIC PLAN

Mt. Airy is a beautiful, historic, tree-lined neighborhood located in northwest Philadelphia-bordered approximately by the Wissahickon Creek, Cresheim Valley Road, Stenton Avenue and Washington Lane. In 2015, Urban Partners was retained by Mt. Airy USA, a community-based non-profit organization, to facilitate a neighborhood strategic planning process. The goal of the project, which was funded by a planning grant from the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation, was to develop a multi-year plan created by the community which will guide investments in the community.
Urban Partners worked with Mt. Airy USA and the project
steering committee to embark on a resident-driven planning
process which incorporated input from the members of
the community in a variety of ways. The most strategic of
these stakeholder engagement process was the use the key
issues task forces, which outlined in great detail the action
strategies for a set of topics that the residents had indicated were high priorities. Using the final plan and the implementation matrices, Mt. Airy USA will be applying for an
implementation grant from the Wells Fargo Regional Foundation in 2016
